2017 Weekly photo challenge (Week 52) Pop

How do you was capture the word ‘pop’ in a photo? My take on this is bubbles…

From summertime fun in Grandma & Grandad’s garden to the festive grown-up variety…

Thanks so much for taking time to look at my photo challenge posts this year. This was my first year of doing them and as I started back in January I did wonder whether I’d be able to achieve all 52, amazingly I did. That may have something to do with the fact my poor phone grinds away slowly under the weight of 23,000+ photos – sorry phone! I really need to sort that out but don’t know where to start…

This 2017 photo challenge was set and run by Nana Cathy and Wild Daffodil – thank you ladies for the support, encouragement and lovely comments this year. 2017 Weekly photo challenge (Week 51) Window

I was a bit spoiled for choice for this week’s challenge. We had an amazing summer this year and were lucky enough to do some traveling. The above photograph was taken as we took off from Gibraltar at the start of our summer adventures.

The following window pictures were taken in the beautiful Saint-Nazaire Basilica in Carcassonne in Southern France. They were the most beautiful stained glass windows I have ever seen and the photographs sadly don’t do them justice.

Seeing all these reminds me that I still have a trillion photos on my camera which are crying out to be featured in blog posts about our summer trips. They will follow at some point – I promise!

2017 Weekly photo challenge (week 50) Gentle

Last year we got an unexpected visitor in our lounge. This little blue tit became trapped indoors after flying in through the open front door. After a few moments of frantic flapping about we managed to steer him out of the apartment.

While he recovered from his ordeal, he sat for a while on our balcony and was happy for us to come very close – so close in fact, that he allowed one Little Postcard to gently stroke him. He then happily flew off.

2017 Weekly photo challenge (week 49) Dark

This was the so-called ‘super moon’ which we had in our skies on Sunday night and Monday morning this week. This was taken at Europa Point looking eastwards towards the Mediterranean. Only armed with my phone camera, it’s not the best moon photo, but it’s certainly dark!

2017 Weekly photo challenge (week 47) Light

When I saw this week’s prompt for the weekly photo challenge, there was only one example of light I could use. The shaft of light which comes through the ceiling of the Pantheon in Rome is awe inspiring.

Not only was the self supporting concrete ceiling built by the ancient Romans, it’s beautiful too and miraculously still standing! I found this place quite magical when we visited in the summer and how appropriate that this light should shine in a place of worship.

2017 Weekly photo challenge (week 43) Paint

As with all my crafty endeavours watercolour painting is my therapy. My weekly classes with the very talented Deborah M Lawson are such fun and work wonders for my sanity.

It never ceases to amaze me how the colours can blend and create such natural effects.

Flowers are my favourite subjects.

Painting can be such a relaxing pastime, I’d recommend giving it a go!

2017 Weekly photo challenge (week 42) Muddle

How appropriate that this week’s correct photo challenge title should be ‘muddle’ after the muddle I got myself into with posts last week!

In all honesty my life has been a bit of a muddle for the past few weeks, I have taken on a new challenge recently which has taken up rather a lot of my time (spare time and not so spare time) hence my blog posts have been a bit thin on the ground lately and there’s been nothing but photo challenge posts and Sunday Sevens for weeks.

Anyway, here’s my take on muddle:

This is my little crafty cubby hole. Believe it or not, it was lovely and tidy at the end of August… oh dear! I’ll get round to tidying it eventually!
