Yellow is the theme for this week’s photo challenge with Alison in Andalucia. It reminded me of the Selfridges Bee at Bee in the City in Manchester last summer, as well as a couple of crafty projects I did last year…

This week, reflection is the theme for Alison in Andalucia’s #52fridayphotos and a trip to the park at Europa Point early this week was a perfect opportunity to catch this reflection. You can just make out the southern end of the top of the Rock behind the mosque at Europa Point reflected in my Little Postcard’s sunglasses.

I’m a day late with this, but it was rather appropriate that yesterday’s photo challenge was ‘vintage’ because yesterday we celebrated my parents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary. 50 years is a heck of a milestone. This photo is of the cover of their wedding album, which at 50 years old qualifies as vintage I think.

And here’s a picture from my recent trip to Stockholm. We spotted this fab vintage shop while on our way out to dinner one evening.

Here’s my 3 for this week’s challenge. Three of the four men in my life (if you include Mr P). I’m linking with Alison in Andalucia for this weekly photo challenge.

I’ve been on an adventure this week, to Sweden!

A place where even the station benches are thoughtfully designed…

And I’ve seen some beautiful ceilings….

…and I hope to share more about it soon…

Love is in the air for this week’s Friday photo challenge… food is a big love of mine and so it had to feature this week. The above pizza was a special Valentines Day takeaway eaten by Eldest last night. Not sure he was too impressed with his quirky shaped pizza!!

I have so many favourite foods I love, but battling for top spot has to be proper fish and chips eaten out of the paper in the fresh seaside air. Oh and chocolate of course!

This week, I made a quick trip home to see my family. On Wednesday morning I awoke to find everything covered in a light blanket of snow.

It was beautiful to see everything brightened by the dusting. Little did I know what an impact nature would have on my day…

Not only did it mean a 20 minute journey to Manchester Airport would take 2 hours…

It also lead to a delay of 5 hours to come back home to Gibraltar… I was one of the lucky ones – at least I got home. Many didn’t.

It’s hard to believe that such a little bit of snow could cause such disruption. But it does remind you that nature is always capable of disrupting our well made plans.

Nature is so beautiful though…

…don’t you think?

How fortuitous that ‘moon’ should be the subject for the photo challenge this week? We started our week with a total lunar eclipse early on Monday morning. Unfortunately, I missed the eclipse and it’s ‘blood moon’, but I did get the chance to see the super moon before it set behind the hills above Algeciras across the Bay of Gibraltar from where we live.

The last time we saw a super moon in Gibraltar was in November 2016. I went down to Europa Point to see it.

This week’s Friday photo challenge is ‘Black & White’ so what better than the New Year fireworks we saw near our home a couple of weeks ago.

Several of our neighbours very kindly put on quite a show for us!

This week’s Friday Photo Challenge theme is ‘think big’ and nothing says big to me like the Vatican. We visited as a family in the summer of 2017 and it was truly huge. St Peter’s Basilica (above) was the largest church in the world until very recently, and this ceiling in the Vatican Museum (below) is just awe inspiring, totally covered in paintings in gilt frames. I have never seen anything like it.

If you would like to read more about our trip to the Vatican City, you can see my post here.
